Technology, Turkey and Teaching 3T

Turkey is a developing country. In parallel with this, use of technology develops in every area of the country. Teaching area is the most significant one. There are lots of projects in progress such as Fatih Project. It is a project that aims to provide smart-boards for every class of primary, secondary and high schools. It is going to help us teachers and students to be more active and up-to-date to the globalizing world. It is for sure that we should be aware of making of those investments are really difficult but there are significant efforts that we cannot ignore. Speaking of future, I am aware of that there will be a level of technology that I cannot follow because of the momentum of it. However, I believe that this momentum of technology will make significant contributions to the education systems. Maybe in the future, as prospective teachers, we will not need to use conventional books or papers. We may not need to go to classes due to the fact that locations or physical conditions will not be important anymore. Therefore, the only need we search for in such moments will absolutely be internet connection. This internet-oriented education systems will challenge for prospective teachers that is why I will try to be online as much as possible in the future in order not to crash old-fashioned walls of education.

  1. Hi Altan! I totally agree with you in the sense that technology will make our jobs easier and also internet will become an indispensable part of in-class activities for our class. How do you think using technology will affect classroom environment?
I look forward to reading your ideas on that issue. Thank you :)

  2. Hi Selin thank you very much for your question-comment part:). I am very delightful for tthat:). Speaking of environment issue, classrooms will have to be modify themselves for the current advances if they want to be stay in the game. I can predict the future as a place that does not depend on any environment :)

  4. Hi Altan, Yes you are right, Turkey is a developing country but it needs to develop in terms of internet connection because the internet connection in Turrkey is unreliable and weak. I also agree with youin the sense that we will not use conventional books and papers.
Similar to your ideas I believe that we will may not go to schools and distance-learning will be common, but there is a question in this sense; what the poor students will do if they don't have internet connection. Do you think that goverment will supply the internet connnection for them?
